Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Rihanna and 20 other big stars make powerful stand against racism in America

In a collaboration between Mic Media and the ‘We Are Here Movement’ led by singer Alicia Keys, Hollywood’s biggest names including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Pink, Adam Levine and more are coming together to fight racism in the U.S.

The video project titled ’23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black In America’ brought 23 celebrities together to speak about the sensitive issue of racism discrimination that’s still well and alive in the U.S. today.

Following the lead of Keys, each celebrity mentions a way that a black American had fallen victim to police violence and lost his/her life.

‘Failing to signal a lane change,’ says Keys, as Sandra Bland‘s picture shows up after.

‘Riding in your girlfriend’s car with a child in the back,’ says Beyoncé, followed by a photo of Philando Castile.

At the end of the video, Keys asserts, ‘We demand racial transformation to heal the long history of systemic racism, so that all Americans have the equal right to live and pursue happiness.’

The ‘We Are Here Movement’ is founded and funded by Keys, and seeks to curate ‘a coalition of the best organisations, causes and campaigns to provide the public with one-stop shopping to change the world,; says its website.

Keys asks people to sign a petition pushing for racial justice and equality in the country.

100k signatures would be needed for the White House to respond, according to the campaign.
