Clinton pounces on Mike Pence’s ‘religious freedom’ fiasco in Indiana

Mike Pence brings anti=LGBTI baggage to the Trump ticket.

As Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick, Indiana Governor Mike Pence brings to the ticket some political baggage that the Hillary Clinton campaign was quick too pounce on today.

‘Think Donald Trump is divisive?’ asks a new video. ‘Meet his running mate, Mike Pence. As governor, Pence was willing to shut down Indiana’s economy to allow discrimination against LGBT people.’

Last year, Pence signed into law Indiana’s highly controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act allowing businesses to turn away LGBTI customers on religious grounds.

But after a national backlash, he quickly ‘fixed’ the law but significant economic damage had been done to the state in the form of boycotts.

The Clinton video includes news footage reporting on cities, states and businesses boycotting the state because of the law including $60 million lost by the city of Indianapolis alone.

Pence has said he does not tolerate discrimination against anyone, but he has always opposed against civil rights protections for LGBTI people. – Read more at: http://ift.tt/29AYhPm
