Isn’t it about time that we have a rainbow flag emoji that celebrates LGBTQ pride and love for all regardless of gender and sexuality?
Indeed, the world has progressed a whole lot in the past 10 years. Today, marriage equality is reality for over one billion people in the world. LGBTQ people are no longer invisible in society, but are known to be making an impact on the world.
Therefore it’s only reasonable that we have a rainbow flag emoji, especially from Apple, a company that believes in and openly supports LGBTQ rights.
In its new statement, the Californian company said that it has added over one hundred new and redesigned emoji characters for its iOS 10 update that’s coming this fall.
Beside a new rainbow flag emoji, the exciting update also ‘brings more gender options to existing characters, including new female athletes and professionals,’ as well as more family options e.g. single parenthood.
