Possible hate crime in New York City

The New York Police Department is investigating an incident as a possible  hate crime attack. Officials charge that yesterday, 6 August, two men started to fight at the Cathedral Parkway subway station, located on 110th Street.  The neighborhood is known as Morningside Heights.

During the fight, the alleged attacker started to use anti-LGBTI slurs. The victim was taken to hospital with a puncture wound in the torso. The victim is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made.
